Thank you, Britney

Well, say what you want about Britney Spears, she’s certainly been good to me. My post about her remains my number one traffic gatherer.

I suppose I shouldn’t complain. This little blog needs all the help it can get. But it is vaguely puzzling that a post about Gerald Ford, one of the most decent men ever to hold the office of President and an important historical figure, barely gets any attention, while the mere mention of the Sweetheart of the Trailer Park garners more traffic than all my other posts combined. What does this say about our society? Nothing good, I sadly suspect.

Maybe I should just tag all my posts “Britney Spears”. Better still, maybe I’ll become a celebrity gossip blogger. Yeah, that’s it.

Thanks Britney, you pantie-less wonder, you!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……. come on, numbers aren’t everything, are they ???? I know, I know – unless one wants to remain a breadless writer, numbers do matter. But celebrity gossip?

I am probably going to die naive, but I still hope that someday, somewhere someone will be able to reach the greater population with the important issues in life.
I was going to say that our present society (at least the Western society) is totally addicted to celeb gossip. Then I remember my UK grandmother about 25 years ago. It wasn’t Britney back then, it was the Royal Family.

People have always loved gossip. The Roman “historian” Suetonius (AD 69-140) is sometimes described as a “gossip”. Some things never change.

Well, not much chance of my becoming a gossip blogger. Murphy would kill me. 🙂

I think if Gerald Ford had done a bunch of stupid crap or maybe walked around with no pants on, your post would have got more attention, but it seems that most don’t care about the decency in the world, just the skankiness. i personally have NO desire whatsoever to see britneys doo-da but apparently the rest of the world does. when you see someone so completely oblivious and ignorant and just plain white trash, it tends to make people feel better, like “hey I’M not like THAT!” . i really think that’s all it is so i wouldn’t fret too much. i love your blog! with or without Miss Pantyless!

    Thanks for the kind words!
