I have just read the book with my class. After the book that we have read we watched the movie. My favorite character is Tiny Time and Scrooge. I like scrooge because when you hear his voice, you think of and old grumpy man. I like tiny tim because he's tiny, haha and because you can learn a lesson of never giving up, because a gift will soon be aquanted to you. I would recommend this book to the grades of 5th to and above Grades.

Scott was a great Scrooge. One of my guilty pleasures this time of year is Scrooged with Bill Murray. It has so many good one liners.

<strong>One of my personal favorites as well.

I was never a big George C. Scott fan.
I realize he's quite talented but he doesn't grab me like DeNiro or Pacino.
At any rate, I'll have to give this one a try if only for the fact that you're so incredibly enthralled by it and I never seem to get sick of the story. I be lubbin' the Dickens.
Did Monty Python do a version of this classic? If they did, that would probably be my favorite. Thanks for the heads up, dude...

<strong>I don't think Monty Python did, but you would probably like the "Blackadder Christmas Carol" starring Rowan Atkinson. Very much in the same vein.

Clearly you do love this version and I think the Chicago Times could use you as a movie reviewer. My personal favorite is the Alistair Sims version. I don't know why, I've certainly not analysed it as you have your favorite - but I guess it's just because it speaks to me - and I guess when it comes to favorite movies that would be the top on the list.

<strong>The Alistair Sims version is certainly very fine. He was THE Scrooge for his time, just as Basil Rathbone was the Sherlock Holmes of his time. In the same vein, I feel that Jeremy Brett (as Holmes) and George C. Scott gave their respective roles a slightly more modern twist, in terms of the emotional angst, while still being true to the 19th century ethos they were portraying.
